What I mean when I say “I can’t do that”- Anxiety Version:

  • I am unable to do that
  • I am too stressed out to do that
  • I cannot face the humiliation of attempting to do that
  • My body will physically not allow me to do that
  • I am on the verge of a panic attack
  • I cannot do that

What people hear:

  • I am unwilling to do that
  • I am just shy
  • I am overreacting
  • I am lazy
  • I need to get more experience in social situation to help my anxiety
  • I need a push
  • I don’t want to do that

I took my girlfriend to an improv show the other night and during intermission we were passionately arguing over whether half a 5 Hour Energy shot would give you 2.5 hours of energy or 5 hours of half-assed energy so we turned around to ask the opinions of the three people behind us and one of them said “Are all your arguments like this because we heard you in the lobby earlier fighting over the right way to pronounce ‘egg’?”








Even just describing it gives me the willies. ugh..

Anyway, I want to add that, even though you’re not aware of having it, googling is not a very good idea. There are very graphic pictures in the image search, especially of skin conditions (also photoshopped ones but these are even worse).
Please be careful when you really want to google it.

Yep, yep and yep. I noticed this trigger on a WTNV post, and they kinda dig into your mind. Even now I see the images. On the day I scratched myself almost enough to bleed because I was convinced there were holes in my skin. Please, please, PLEASE tag trypophobia/tryptophobia/holes!!
